Our day trip to Nara was one of the highlights of our visit to Japan, and that was entirely thanks to our incredible guide! She has an amazing knowledge of Japanese history, culture, and sake. She shared everything in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. We visited Todai-ji Temple, saw the Great Buddha, explored Nara Park with its famous free-roaming deer, and finished at Kasuga Taisha Shrine. Every stop was brought to life through her stories and insights.
She also speaks excellent English and Spanish, which made the experience even more enjoyable and accessible. Beyond her knowledge, she has such a warm, friendly, and welcoming personality that made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend. I’m incredibly grateful we had the opportunity to meet her. She made our trip to Nara truly unforgettable, and I would absolutely book another tour with her the next time I’m in Japan. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Maya doesn’t just explain history or point out landmarks - she helps you truly understand Japanese culture through her own experiences, perspective, and stories.
She is also an amazing photographer. She took the best photos of us throughout the day - photos we will genuinely treasure forever. She brought us to an incredible local spot we never would have found on our own. We ordered almost everything on the menu, had one of the best meals of our trip, and the total was somehow only around $20.
Maya completely transformed our experience in Kyoto and gave us memories we will talk about for years. She is absolutely worth planning a trip around which we did!
