We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ran as our tour guide in Kyoto! He's multilingual — fluent in English, Mandarin, and Japanese — which made communication effortless and added so much depth to our understanding of the places we visited.

Ran is incredibly knowledgeable about Kyoto's history, culture, and hidden gems, and he went above and beyond by giving us plenty of great recommendations for food, sights, and things to do beyond our planned itinerary. Ran was an absolutely wonderful tour guide for our day in Nara! He showed us some of the most beautiful and memorable sites, and his knowledge and enthusiasm brought everything to life. We especially loved the digital presentation he shared beforehand—it gave us fascinating background and context that made our visit even more meaningful.

Friends of mine had been to Japan in 2025, and I told them I was taking our family of five this year. They immediately suggested that I should use Yang - their guide from last year - if I went to Kyoto. So, I contacted Yang and our family had an incredible experience a few weeks ago with him.

Yang and I connected in March, and he confirmed the dates and laid out an itinerary that we continued to modify as the family discussed what we wanted to do. He took care of all logistics - including procuring a driver and car, clearly communicating costs and time frames, and doing a very nice job of providing commentary as we spent the entire day going from place to place. His English is excellent, and he has a good sense of humor. He also takes great photos and is quite patient.

I highly recommend Yang to any group or individual spending time in Kyoto. You will have a memorable time.

Our family spent the day touring Kyoto with Young. He was very informative and used the iPad to show us more details about what we were seeing. We enjoyed an amazing wagyu lunch together. It was so great to have someone so knowledgeable who could explain what we were looking at. This was a great way to pack all the main Kyoto sites into one day.
