Hello! My name is Hirom Kamii
I am a government licensed and Kyoto City certified tour guide. I started working a tour guide in Higashiyma in 2017 and have had rather many tourists since then.
I have been living in Kyoto since I married to my husband, a Kyoto native. I had been to Kyoto twice before I met him. I still remember I was so excited to see shrines, temples, roads and so on that I studied in the text book of Japanese history at school. Standing in the precincts of some shrines and temples, I felt as if I were in history. I also made sure that everything I 'd learned about Japanese history was real. Kyoto was the capital of Japan from 794 to 1868. Even in former wars, Kyoto was not attacked and remained itself. The remains have been well preserved. That's one of the reasons tourists not only across Japan but also the world visit Kyoto.
I thought that it was the best for me to become a tour guide in Kyoto when I moved there.Kyoto brings many tourists across the world because it has interesting annual events, foods, temples, shrines...that all fascinate them.
I've been to many countries and met many people. While I was traveling, I found that people were all the same human beings so clearly and nothing came next to world peace. I remember most of the people I've met were
so kind, helpful and fun. This time as a tour guide,I would like to contribute something to tourists all over the world and to world peace even a little .
I used to work for a travel agency in Tokyo. During the time I traveled a lot overseas. I also worked as an English teacher for both an English conversation school and kindergarten.
Since I gave birth, I've been a full-time mother for my twins. Now they are old enough away from their mother^^ So, I am here, as a tour guide!
I love traveling and Yoga.
I found that traveling was fun and gave me experiences, some are very important for my life. I realized that when I flew to England alone and studied there after high school. Never having left from my parents, I was all right and had a great time thanks to all my friends from different countries. Before coming back to Japan, I traveled in Europe alone by boat and trains with a limited budget. I was so excited and determined when I left for France. Following there, I visited Portugal, Spain, Belgium... and Hong Kong on the way back to Japan.
Then, I got a job at a travel agency in Tokyo and traveled overseas a lot on business, such as the U.S. China, Korea...
Moving to Kyoto after I was married, I went to college there and got an opportunity to study in Vancouver, Canada as an exchange student for a while. I particularly like traveling abroad. It always excites me.
I always feel comfortable after yoga. I only need a small space for a yoga mat on which I practice yoga. I like it! Yoga has so much more to offer than flexibility and the idea of garnering a strong body. People of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities can do yoga and adapt it to suit their individual tastes and needs. I have a certification of yoga teacher.
